About - Indian Street Graphics

OK TATA is an ongoing project, that started with my deep fascination by Indian visual culture. These images were collected between 2003 and 2010 in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Kerala, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Goa and Karnataka.

Part of this collection was included in the exhibition "Street Graphics. India" that we have set together with Vladislav Liashchuk in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2004, supported by the Union of Designers of Russia, Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Indian Consulate in St. Petersburg. I've collected more since, and decided to share my archives online, because I believe it could be a great source of inspiration and reference material for other artists, designers and illustrators, or anyone, really!

I've tried to structure this beautiful chaos, but if there's not enough categories - I have put tags on the photos, so you could try and find something unexpected.

Try searching:

- pink

- danger

- Hanuman

- Royal Enfield

- Varanasi

- type

- stop

...Or anything else?

Enjoy!

Also there exists a soundtrack to this project - a mesmerising 70 minutes long soundscape of Indian streets recorded and mixed by Vladislav Liashchuk, you can check it out here (or play it while you browse!)
